Victorian Restoration in Alameda
This owner of this Victorian home in Alameda, California came to us for help with a complete restoration of the stunning old home. The foundations had deteriorated severely and there were major waterproofing issues throughout.
Collaborating with our engineers, contractors and craftspeople we raised the house and built a new foundation and basement. The exterior shingling was removed. The exterior walls were waterproofed. Exterior trim was restored and new shingling brought the house back to its original appearance. Seismic upgrades of various kinds were done throughout the house, including the reconstruction of the brick chimney.
This beautiful old home can now grace the Alameda townscape for another 120 years or more. The photo at right shows the house before restoration and the photo at left after.
