California Ranch Classic

For this slightly more formal California Ranch house we designed a kitchen that had an open plan, suitable to the open floor plan of the house, but also contained more formal elements, such as the detailed mouldings and graciously proportioned cabinets.

To reduce the appearance of bulk in the island we opted for white cabinetry. This helps to lead the eye across the space, towards the windows and the view beyond. The island sink and peninsula provide a second work area within the kitchen while also encouraging guests not to enter the workspace but rather to sit at the peninsula.
